Our story began in early 2024, when Justin—a retired Army Special Forces veteran, devoted dad, and small-farm owner—and Shannon, a preschool teacher and mother of four, discovered a shared love for animals, agriculture, and meaningful family experiences. From the start, the farm felt special. Goats, pigs, horses, and cattle filled our days with personality, purpose, and plenty of hard work.

That hands-on experience sparked something bigger in us. Shannon had always looked for ways to connect children with animals and nature through farm events, sanctuaries, horseback riding, and classroom experiences. But being part of a real working farm created a deeper dream: to build a place where other families could feel the same wonder, connection, laughter, and peace.

Then came the animals that turned the dream into a story of its own. Finn, our Highland bull, joined the family, followed by Ruby and Pearl, our sweet pigs. Baby goats arrived soon after, bringing even more energy, personality, and joy to the farm.

In 2025, we blended our families, moved to Willow Spring, NC, brought the animals with us, and officially started our homestead. That June, Goldie joined the herd. When she met Finn, they walked up and rubbed noses.

By October, we were booking farm visits at local breweries, hosting goat cuddles, visiting preschool classrooms, and being invited to birthday parties, weddings, and community events. What began with ideas, prayers, faith, hard work, dedication, and a little chaos has grown into a small business rooted in family, learning, and unforgettable memories. And yes—our Highlands really did have a wedding.
